CORONAVIRUS
We hope that the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak won’t be as bad as other countries. Our Government, Federal and State are doing an excellent job keeping us safe and we must all listen and conform to their advice.
In last night’s Prime Minister Statement (29/03/20) the Prime Minister said “We will be living with this virus for at least six months, so social distancing measures to slow this virus down must be sustainable for at least that long to protect Australian lives and help Australia to keep functioning”
Listening to that it really made us think that business need to get employees ready and working from home ASAP.
LET’S SEE HOW VOIP / HOSTED VOICE SOLUTIONS CAN HELP BUSINESS DURING THIS PERIOD.
So, what are the different ways that VoIP could help companies during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
VoIP Phone Services Let’s You Work Anywhere
One of the biggest benefits of using VoIP phone systems and services when you are working away from the office is that you get most, if not all, of the office functionality that you would expect as if you were in the office.
Provided staff have a pc, laptop or mobile phone and an internet connection, they should be able to carry out most of their normal duties.
Depending on the type of business, this should mean that some companies could continue to operate even if staff are working from home or have been advised to self-isolate.
VOIP VIDEO & COLLABORATION MADE EASY
Video Conference can be used from anywhere and on any devices (PC or iOS and Android smartphone) giving users the ultimate flexibility when deciding how they want to meet.
Users can share files, screens, whiteboards and message with each other.
Video conferencing technology ensures that staff meetings and staff training can still go ahead, regardless of where employees are.
The very nature of this crisis means the situation is often changing minute by minute and businesses have to think on their feet and be adaptable.
These are just a few of the ways that VoIP could help companies during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
TIPS FOR WORKING FROM HOME WITH VOIP
- Maintain a Separate Work Phone Number – Set up a phone number that you only use for calls with colleagues and clients. Having a separate phone number helps you manage your work-life balance.
- Maintain Regular Hours – Set a schedule, and stick to it…most of the time. Having clear guidelines for when to work and when to call it a day helps many remote workers maintain work-life balance.
- Keep in Contact – If possible, encourage or arrange video or telephone ‘check ins’ with employees to make sure everything is ok.
- Keep Safe – If workers can work from home with VoIP phone or Video services during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, then this may discourage them from coming to the office.
