Bring Your Own Trunk (BYOT) or Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC)

by | Feb 15, 2024 | Marketing

Bring Your Own Trunk (BYOT) or Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC) is a feature of the NEC UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT cloud phone system (UCaaS) that provides UNIVERGE BLUE customers with the ability to bring and connect their own existing carrier phone lines and phone numbers (indial ranges, DID Numbers) to the UNIVERGE BLUE Cloud phone system.

BYOT / BYOC is primarily used by customers who wish to move to the Cloud phone system (UCaaS)  or contact centre services (CCaaS) but need to retain their existing carrier contracts with their current telecom providers for various reasons such as Telstra etc

It is an alternative deployment option for UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT (UCaaS) and UNIVERGE BLUE ENGAGE (CCaaS) cloud service customers. Utilising an SBC (Session Border Controller), the customer will connect their existing phone lines to their UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT account via a SIP trunk, allowing for the use of desk phones and mobile UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT apps with their own DID phone numbers and phone lines (PSTN, ISDN, SIP Trunks)
